The lug-type version of butterfly valves is pro vided with lugs, which are tapped to directly bolt them between flanges of a pipeline. In principle, it is possible to use these valves as a stop valve (or end-of-line valve) at the end of a pipeline. The pipeline can be disassembled on one side only, without medium flowing out. A butterfly valve with lugs (but without threads) is classed as a wafer-type valve and cannot be used for one-sided dismantling of a pipeline. This should be defined in the case of an order, but in general, if talking of lug-type valves, threaded holes for flange screws should be used. Standards regarding body length are identical to those used for wafer-type valves.
